When you listen to an album hundreds of times and it still gives you chills, it’s a testament to the indescribable majesty of music. This, for me, is one of those albums. Of course there’s the “Hallelujah” cover; it’s beyond discussing. Jeff’s gift was bringing so many emotions into focus at once, with a richness and clarity unmatched by predecessors, peers, or successors of any pedigree. Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t share that one of my all-time favorite songs is “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over.” In six minutes, it manages everything to which a songwriter should aspire. Buckley’s life was cut tragically short, but we’ll always have his Grace to celebrate.
