Early years
Third Day began in 1991, when singer Mac Powell and guitarist Mark Lee finished studying at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. They had already played together in a garage band called Nuclear Hoedown Read more on Last.fm
All things considered, there are some great moments on this record, thanks in part to the tasteful ‘twang’. The ‘southern rock’ moniker can be pretty misguided in regards to Third Day, but small diversions—like the opening track’s shuffle and the guitar solo in “Never Bow Down”—add some welcome flavor.
And, I’m going +1 here just because “Don’t Say Goodbye” exists.
