It’s cool, especially in concept. It pulls off everything well. It has some terrific headbanger moments (the half-time rip in “State of Mind”). Nevertheless, like so many other metal albums, it overstays its welcome. Armed with such an awesome artistic direction, why not try crafting an entire record around the creepy vibe you introduce at the outset of your record instead of a few weird noises between songs? I’m all for banger after banger, but it just gets uninteresting after a while, no matter how much I enjoy the sound of a big, meaty death metal groove. If you’re going to get weird, Terrorizer, then just get weird!
