Robert Plant defied critics pre-concieved notions with this T-Bone Burnett helmed gem. There is not a thread of rock n roll bombast, only the vein that bled into it. Krause is maybe the most distinct and haunting vocalist of the last hundred years. Together, they conjure up the ghost of The Everly Brothers, a pinch of Muscle Shoals and a lot of stark, Flannery O’Conner esq wisdom. Magnificent.
Beautiful, unique music. Two of the most recognizable voices of the last 50 years writing folk rock with T-Bone Burnett? More please.
