Christian Lembach of Whores. lauded their “heavy Nirvana vibe,” so that was enough to reel me in. I hear lots of Weezer (and flavors after flavor of mid-90s “alt”), too, though, so it makes for interesting contrast. Father is a record from a band probably trying to hone a bit, but the tones are fantastic, and it’s full of the kinds of ill-fitting-on-paper juxtapositions of heavy/tragic and light/coming that make Torche great. I’m intrigued by you, Pretty Please. Keep the noises coming.
