Take a former Playboy Playmate and members of Frank Zappa’s band and you’ve got Missing Persons.

This1982 debut record is completely solid and features the 80’s classic hits, “Words,” “Destination Unknown,” and “Walking In L.A.”

The musical power driving Missing Persons is extraordinary. Terry Bozzio on drums, Warren Cuccurullo on guitar and Patrick O’Hearn on keys and bass. Remember they played with Frank Zappa? These guys are stellar musicians and it’s obvious on this record. The tones and parts are all so precise.

The songs are still the focus even with all this musicianship. The band’s focus is not playing lots of notes and flash, although that happens at times.

My uncle turned me onto this band when I was 10 or 11 and I was hooked from there. These records have never gotten old to me. I wish I could’ve seen this original line up live. Check out this 1983 performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjQ6ZTDfeEQ&feature=related See what I mean?!
