Capricornia is Midnight Oil's final studio album, released in 2001 in Australia and 2002 worldwide. To many, it showed a return to the strength of the Oils' most popular albums, diesel and dust, Blue sky mining and Earth and sun and moon. It was produced by Warne Livesey, who had already worked on Diesel and Dust and Blue Sky Mining. The name and concept of Capricornia was taken from the novel of the same name written by the Australian author Xavier Herbert.
