Koloss is the seventh album by Swedish metal band Meshuggah. It was released on March 23, 2012 in Germany, on March 26 in the rest of Europe, and March 27 in North America via Nuclear Blast. Tomas Haake, the drummer, stated, "As always, we try to take our music in a slightly different direction with each album and with Koloss, we feel that we really nailed what we were going for. ‘Koloss’ is absolutely immersing. In some sort of cosmic ‘gotcha’, Meshuggah reminds us here that it was never, really, the speed or the technicality that makes their music so incredible—it’s that no one else can do what they can: perform multiple ideas simultaneously and cohesively.
It’s unreal.
