Now, I realize that this review is going to generate a plethora of very original hate mail and “you’ve lost your mind” kind of responses. I am fully expecting the confusion and sudden anger to be profuse and heavy.
That said, as a critic and as someone who’s eclectic taste has no problem admitting I listened to and enjoyed LB in middle school (and so did most of you…don’t lie), I will be the first to say that, as much as I wanted this to be a heap of steaming modern waste, it winds up sounding exactly like a late 90’s Limp Bizkit record. All hate aside, one must give props for a complete return to form.
THAT SAID, YES, FRED DURST IS A HORRIBLE LYRICIST….AND YES WES BORLAND IS THE STANDOUT.
That said…again….if you liked rap rock when you were fourteen, this is a nostalgic trip back.
That’s my honest review (FML). Let the parade of hate begin!
