This is a record with depth, emotion, honesty and sincerity. With each listen I hear a new bit, a new sound like a horn or violin that I didn’t hear before. It is bands like Leagues that kill this notion of, “there is no good music coming out anymore.”
Leagues shows their inspirations and that’s what I like about them. The Beatles, U2, The Pixies, REM, Beach Boys and that “Nashville perfectionism” are in plain view. While those references are old the sound of this record is very modern.
This record will totally be on my best of 2013 list.
