Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the American rock band Journey, originally released in 1988 by Columbia Records. It is the band's best-selling career disc, spending 330 weeks on the Billboard 200 album chart (more than any other compilation album, except for Bob Marley's Legend disc, in history). It wasn’t good then, it isn’t good now. One decent song in the Sopranos finale doesn’t redeem them for the sheer shittiness the created album after album. They had incredible technical ability and squandered it on power ballads and fluffy songs for people who hate rock music. They epitomized everything bad about late 70s/early 80s FM radio rock.
While certainly a must own greatest hits album, there are still songs I skip. The mark of a truly great greatest hits album, or any album for that matter, is one in which all songs hold great appeal. So, no disrespect, but 4 or even 4.5 for that reason alone.
Classic pop. Don’t stop believin!
Yeah, Journey kicked ass. It’s just the truth.
This is definitely one of the best Greatest Hits Albums of all time. The musical talent that journey had/has is mind blowing. The vocal reach of lead singer Steve Perry, is unbelievable. Song after song, album after album. Journey made some of the greatest and most loved music in the world.
