Unstoppable Momentum is the fourteenth studio album by guitarist Joe Satriani, released on May 6, 2013 through Epic Records. It was first announced on Satriani's official website on February 20, 2013, with a tour to begin in mid-May featuring Marco Minnemann on drums and Bryan Beller on bass. The track listing and cover art were revealed on March 19. A full-length preview of "A Door into Summer" was made available at Premier Guitar in April, along with a review of the album. You can’t help going into a Satriani album without the high expectation. Especially not when he has mostly delivered in the past. That’s why he is who he is. Sadly, Unstoppable Momentum disappoints. There is not a single song that leaves a lasting memory or begs to be heard again and again. Oh the melody is there and so is the mastery but the soul is missing and the songs do not talk to you as they have in the past. Whether this is because of the various projects he is involved in or he just cobbled this together quickly we will never know. In the meantime its back to listening to the older albums.
