All the pieces are there to make this a great record. I just—get bored. I’m not sure what it is.
For ETID fans, though, I’d imagine this might be the best thing to happen to 2014.
My theory that a given year’s best heavy records always come from GodCity stands intact. If you like Every Time I Die, you should already know this is a hyper-leap forward – a perfect distillation of what’s always made them different and great, trimming away (or growing away from) a lot of the fatty elements I never realized I wouldn’t missed. If you just like heavy music, even if you are sure you don’t like ETID, this is the perfect time to give them another try.
