With the score of A Fistful of Dollars, Morricone started his ten-year collaboration with his childhood friend Alessandro Alessandroni and his Cantori Moderni. Alessandroni provided the whistling on the soundtracks. Alessandro Alessandroni's Cantori Moderni were a flexible troupe of modern singers.
