Falling into Infinity is the fourth studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater, released in 1997. through EastWest Records. It is the only album to feature keyboardist David Sherinian. The album's writing process, was noted to be very frustrating for the band, as their label wanted the band to create concise, radio-friendly songs, with drummer Mike Portnoy fighting against it. For over a year, the band wrote songs without given permission to record them (according to Portnoy).
