Part Fall of Troy, part Behold… The Arctopus, part thrashier Norma Jean. This Destrage record is exactly what I’ve been hoping for out of metal this year.
As Meshuggah and Car Bomb and others push the technical side, and bands like Mastodon push on the melodic side, there’s more room than ever for something noisy and chaotic that also has song structure and interesting moments. Destrage nailed it. Energy is at 11, and there are very few dull moments.
