KooKoo, Debbie Harry of Blondie's debut solo album, was released on July 27, 1981 via Chrysalis Records. Its singles were "Backfired" and "The Jam Was Moving". According to Harry in her memoir "Face It", the album was intended to be "...an album that synthesized black and white music, not just a rock band covering a black song or writing a song that referenced black music but a true collaboration between a black act and a white act".
