Drought is an EP by Deathspell Omega. It is the band's first release of new material since their 2010 album Paracletus, and can be considered an epilogue of sorts to the trilogy that Paracletus brought to a close. It is the final release included in the band's 2012 vinyl box set incorporating the trilogy and related works, suggesting that the band regards it as thematically connected. Like a poor man’s Ephel Duath, Deathspell Omega is starting to push the edges of weird, dark music. ‘Drought’ is a great change of pace for them, and sets the tone for a potential catalog of innovative music.
