In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 is the second studio album by progressive rock quartet Coheed and Cambria. It was released on October 7, 2003 through Equal Vision Records. It was recorded at Applehead Recording, Woodstock, New York and produced by Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner. The album is the third installment (but second album released) of a tetralogy about the ongoing saga of the Keywork in The Amory Wars. Coheeds second effort fully embraces the poppier elements that were only hinted at on 2nd Stage Turbine Blade. It also embraces the emo genre a little more. When you’re as musically proficient as these guys are, that doesn’t hurt you by any means. In fact, it goes a long way in proving you can stretch out and do something different. As prog rock, the album delivers, continuing the story of the Armory Wars as well as upping the musicianship and production quality from 2nd Stage. Another gem from the early 2000’s.
