Car Bomb has to be the most underrated band to have ever put out anything ‘mathy’ in the late 2000’s. Although the Last.fm band description will make me look like a dolt for saying this, if ‘Centralia’ was a triangle, the three sides would be Meshuggah, Converge, and DEP. It’s got the deleted beats of Meshuggah, the heaviness of Converge, and the seeming oddness of DEP—but with a precision that Dillinger could never pull off.
I mean, really: there’s a 0:37 song on this album.
