Big K.R.I.T.

  1. gives it a: 4/5

With his second release, Big K.R.I.T. solidifies his place as next up out of the South. Spitting introspective lyrics on beats that he helmed, K.R.I.T.’s talent to manipulate a track from head to toe is unique.

Return of 4eva highlight’s the Mississippi native’s ability to make a wide array of songs with subject matter ranging from the introspect a person has after the passing of a friend to an all-star showcase of pride for a region.

K.R.I.T seems to be the torchbearer for the new generation of MCs from the South. He effortlessly wears the producer hat (spawning hits with T.I., Burna & 8ball & MJG) as well as hold his own lyrically (2Chainz’s “Pimps” & The Root’s “Make My”).

Let’s hope he’s saved enough for his 2012 Def Jam debut.

  2. gives it a: 5/5

Peerless work in regard to its art form … K.R.I.T. is a true student of the game, which makes his music a blast to enjoy. This, his second “legit” release, is hip-hop’s best in 2011, and it marks the big, fat, funky, freewheelin’, fantastic return of the glory of the Dirty South.
