It’s a cool record, but it feels like a step backward (or lateral at best) from the debut EP. I hear Torche and I hear Deftones both pretty clearly throughout, and I couldn’t put my finger on any one label before. I’m bummed that it’s so forgettable, because the four-song, twelve minute EP is still very much under my skin. Chalk it up to “sophomore” slump, I guess.
