The Parallax II: Future Sequence is the sixth studio album by American progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me, released on October 9, 2012. The album's concept is the continuation of the band's 2011 EP The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues. The songs Telos and Astral Body were released as singles prior to the album, with Astral Body receiving a music video. The closing song (besides the outro), Silent Flight Parliament, incorporates riffs and lyrics from every song on the album that came before it, acting as a cohesive summary of the entire album in one song. Though it drags a bit in places (an almost insurmountable consequence of ‘prog’), ‘The Parallax II…’ is an incredible musical journey full of signature BTBAM instrumentation. They’re evolving so elegantly, allowing the nuances of more progressive music to grow without leaving behind any of the brilliant transitions, riffs, or heaviness that makes them so appealing.
