Slaughter Of The Soul is a 1995 album by Swedish melodic death metal band At the Gates, being their fourth full-length album release. It is considered a genre classic by many fans, and was largely responsible for establishing the Gothenburg scene, providing somewhat of an archetype for new melodic death metal bands. Slaughter of the Soul was re-released on CD in 2002 and 2007. A remastered LP edition was reissued Fall 2014 by Earache records. Read more on Last.fm.
At the Gates is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg. A major progenitor of the Gothenburg metal music scene, the band was formed in 1990 by singer Tomas Lindberg along with former members of the Swedish pioneering death metal band Grotesque. Although initially active from 1990–1996, the band reformed in 2007 for a reunion tour that lasted from April to September, 2008.
