Boys & Girls is the debut studio album from American rock band Alabama Shakes. It was released on April 9, 2012. The album peaked at number 6 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and number 3 on the UK Albums Chart. The album was listed at #34 on Rolling Stone's list of the top 50 albums of 2012. The album is largely confessional-- not in the singer/songwritery sense, but in that it's riddled with admissions that probably wouldn't have been made by any other means, words that feel lighter sung than spoken.
