Not to be confused with the German heavy-metal band of the same name, Japanese ambient minstrel Accept’s sophomore effort is a downtempo, acoustic-driven concept album. Multi-layered and filled with multi-tracked harmonies, the self-avowed Brit-rock aficionado occasionally meanders into progressive soft-rock territory. But just when you thought this was a study in New Age acoustic balladeering, he hits you with “Not a Child,” an experimental mood piece driven by distorted vocals and trippy synths.
