Glossy, happy music that’s tailor made for cultish motivational nonsense.
Seems like this band gets a bad rap. Admittedly, they are a little weird. I’ve always liked them. Their records sound so good. Everything is big, wide, clear and defined. Considering how many different instruments and voices are on these records that’s no small feat. This record continues along the path of positive energy and Stuart Smalley “feel goodism.”
Highlights include the lead track, “You Don’t Know Me,” and, “Hold Yourself Up.”
