The Bloody Beetroots are an electro and dance music duo from Bassano del Grappa, Vicenza, Italy. Formed in late 2006 by Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, an international indie producer, and DJ Tommy Tea. Often compared with French duo Justice and Italian DJ duo Crookers, the duo wear Grendel masks while performing. These guys have been on my list of “music to checkout” for a while. I can’t remember how they got there. Since Spotify made it easy, I finally did this week. The album definitely has it’s highs and lows. Most of the tracks are heavy electronic beats that sound like they’d eat other electronic music for breakfast. Those tracks are great. A handful sound airy and poppy – these are the lows. I rarely skip tracks on the first listen through of an album, but I had to 3-4 times with this. Without those few tracks though, this easily rates as a 4-5. Still recommend checking this out.
