Almendra, or more commonly Almendra I, is the name given to the first studio album by the Argentine rock band Almendra, released on November 29, 1969 by RCA VIK. The album cover only says "Almendra". It had a decisive influence on the founding of the musical subgenre known in Argentina as rock nacional and on the creation of a new Rioplatense song. With the beauty, the drama and poetic of tango.Presenting an unique guitar style and voice, that has influenced the nexts generations of argentinian pop, the frontman Luis Alberto “El Flaco” Spinetta is a true hero of the rock. With only 19 years old, his debut showed a mayor gifted talent and he wrotes there the future of rock sang in spanish. Listen to the classic ballad “Muchacha (Ojos de papel)”, wrote to his actual girlfriend and you could confirm that. “Que el viento borró tus manos”, “Fermín”, “A estos hombres tristes”, “Plegaria para un niño durmido”, the surreal lyrics of “Figuracíon” and “Fermín” and the rock “Ana no duerme” proves that the argentinian rock is singular and incredibling creative in many ways.
