After the departure of David Conway, My Bloody Valentine released the Strawberry Wine EP, followed by the LP Ecstasy, their second LP. With these two records, MBV took a new direction. While the loud chiming guitars are still present, they seem layered and effected in new ways that presage the soundscapes of Isn't Anything. Also of note is new vocalist/co-guitarist Bilinda Butcher, who would play an important role in shaping the "MBV Sound". Much to the band's chagrin, Lazy Records bundled the two releases and released it on LP and CD as "Ecstasy and Wine" after the success of "You Read more on Last.fm.
