Kelly Cherelle Price (born April 4 1973) is the daughter of Joseph and Claudia Price. Price is the second of three children born and raised in Queens, NY. Under the watchful eye of her mother and the pastorate of her grandparents, Jerome and Joni Norman, Price was nurtured and developed spiritually by being taught the word of God and the importance of a sustained prayer life through the special prayer services her grandfather held weekly in addition to Sunday services and bible study. With this album Kelly Price has laid down a challenge to the R&B industry. Top this! This is what a real singer sounds like. These are what great songs sound like. This is what a great album is all about. From the awesome power of Tired to the funky danceable And You Don’t Stop. There is a great relationship lesson wrapped up in soulful grooves in Not My Daddy. I won’t name all the songs on this set, but I will say there is no weakness in her game. Just when you think,” Oh I won’t like this song”, Kelly comes through with unbelievable vocals to save the day. The R&B world is really in a state of sickness today. It is suffering from poor singers, poor song writing, and neglectful production. Kelly by Kelly Price is strong, strong medicine that should be taken by the industry to fix what ails it.
