Once Upon the Cross is the third studio album by American death metal band Deicide. It was released in 1995 by Roadrunner Records and was particularly controversial as its cover art depicted an autopsy of Jesus Christ. Apparently, the original cover was going to depict a disemboweled Jesus Christ, but it was too controversial, so the record company had to cover it up with a bloody sheet over the disemboweled Jesus Christ.
