The first full-length studio album by El Paso, TX-based post-hardcore/emo band At the Drive-In, first released on February 18, 1997, by Flipside. It has been reissued multiple times since then on different labels. It was recorded in Los Angeles for $600 during a time of great turmoil for the band. Many of the songs on the album were inspired by the suicide of Julio Venegas, a close friend of singer Cedric Bixler Zavala and guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez; Venegas' suicide would later also be addressed in the song "Concertina" and album De-Loused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta, a band Read more on Last.fm.
