It’s one of the most soulful, evocative, unique albums composed entirely with electronics that I’ve ever heard. The 8-bit thing was none more than silly novelty until I heard this record. “Cuspcake” blows my mind. Now, that’s not to say this record on the whole is timeless or outstanding by any means, but any true lover of music could find something to love (or at least appreciate, as an armchair scholar) about this record and the new possibilities it unfolds in the Age of the Tumblr DJ.
