My Head Is an Animal is the debut studio album by the Icelandic indie folk band Of Monsters and Men,released in Iceland in September 2011. After their success, topping the Icelandic charts with their debut single, "Little Talks", the band signed with Universal Music Group and the album was released in North America on April 3, 2012. Of Monsters and Men are an indie folk band which formed in 2010 in Keflavík/Garðabær, Iceland. The band consists of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir (vocals, guitar), Ragnar Þórhallsson (vocals, guitar), Brynjar Leifsson (guitar), Kristján Páll Kristjánsson (bass), Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson (drums) and the former member Árni Guðjónsson (keyboards, accordion), who left the band in 2012. it was a good listen bc of the female harmony
Great album, although I am biased since I have a thing for albums that have female vocalists. Great vibe with really nice instrumentation. If you’re a fan of “indie” anything this album is a no-brainer.
The album is a solid listen from start to finish. Prior to listening I wasn’t aware of their hit “Little Talks”, but it as well as “King and Lionheart” are two tracks that should have you hooked.
