There are two artists called The Throne: 1. The Throne is the incorrect tag for a hip-hop duo Jay-Z & Kanye West which formed in 2010. Their debut album, entitled Watch the Throne, was released on 8 August 2011 to critical acclaim. Jay-Z has indicated that another collaboration is forthcoming. 2. The Throne is a Polish post-metal/hardcore band formed in late 2009. Their music is a crossover between slow post-rock soundscapes and heavy sludge parts. They’e released an EP called Fig.2 in 2010, which was acclaimed very well.

Love the album and the production. Many people are sleeping on this album, but it will definitely grow on you. Hopefully they will continue to collaborate and create another album. Definitely the best Hip Hop album of the year, and may enter top 15 of all time.
Forgive me, but I found “Watch the Throne” to be underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong: it’s better hip-hop than 95% of what’s coming out today in the same market. Yet, the first three songs give you a unusual amount of hope that you might be listening to an album literally packed with great songs, and that’s not the case. Just for the raw amount of talent packed into one record, the pace and creativity of the last 2/3 of “Watch the Throne” seem to quickly wane while we try to figure out why songs are alternating dance beats with distorted backbeats å la Jurassic 5 or Common.
I hope they give this another go. This is a good album, but these two can do way better.
There are some good tracks in it, but nothing special… sometimes makes me sleepy…
