After a few listens, however, I reluctantly step out from behind my bias and admit: this is a better album. It’s exhaustingly fast and scarily locked in (the rhythm section is SO TIGHT), and having Kurt Ballou behind the boards effectively captures their sound, which I would liken to the the spreading of a mushroom cloud. Worth the price of admission for the bad-dude swag of the solo section and outro riff of “The Flame” alone.
